it's horrible

that painful feeling, you can't do anything, you can just wait and hope for the best. like looking at him trying not to die. except i'm not looking at him because i'm away, far,  and i have to work. if i didn't have that loan, i'd go now, forget about work or obligations and be with him. i'm angry because i can't do anything, some people say it's in the hand of god, but i don't believe in god so i guess it's in his hands to try not to die and stay alive so he can see us have a career, have children, get married... i'm angry because if this god exists why he is not doing anything, why will he want to make us cry. please god help him, no. please fate help him and i don't want to believe it will be over soon, it can't. it just can't be finished. not like that. i don't want to. he never came to ireland. he never saw where i was living. he never saw me lighting a gig. or setting up climbing ladders and fixing plugs.

i don't want it to be finished. not yet.

My Moroccan adventure

-the view from the balcony, from any balconies, on the sea

-the aftas, nice cafe around the corner for breakfast

-the smell in the streets of taghazout, especially on tuesday when they emptied the septic tank

-look for the goat in the tree

-january is the new july

-the sunset poo (the toilets with the view on the ocean at the lads new place)

-learning how to bargain

-tajine, couscous and mint tea

-moroccan spices and especially the moroccan viagra

-the pink houses in every village, all pink even if it was different shades of pink

-the nice surprise when i saw jonathan rhys meyers picture signed and thanking chris (owner of the surf n stay company) for a great time

-drinking moroccan wine, pastis and suze with cassis

-reminding fergal to drive on the right side of the road

-being arrested for speeding on the way back from essaouira

-throwing bananas and oranges peels in each other's cars when overtaking them

-being the only french speaker, and helping the irish lads to translate words sometimes

-I wonder how I wonder why yesterday you told me
'bout the blue blue sky and all that I can see is just another argan tree
I'm turning my head up and down
I'm turning turning turning turning turning around
And all that I can see is just another argan tree

my NYE

i will be working so no celebrations for me this year, but honestly i don't really care, every year everyone is forced to have fun, celebrate and drink on that very night... i find it not original and a tad repetitive... for once i don't have to think about what house party i'm gonna go to, or in what pub i'm gonna drink, or in what foreign city i'm gonna celebrate.

that's the poster for what's happening in ALT:

a new venue in town

opening (for real) in february

a (proper) PA and stage

same capacity than whelans (i think)

it is the Academy 2.

i know it is open already, for clubs most of the time. but from february, you will be able to watch gigs there as well (they already did that for hard working class heroes but i think it wasn't too successful). they are gonna upgrade the equipment and promote it as a venue.

we'll see how it goes.

(now think about it, MCD are now gonna be interested by smaller and upcoming bands... that can be a threat for the promoters in that area but that can be also good for local bands...)

oh and the ambassador is closing. for real this time. last gigs in december. no more gigs but an exhibition space first, then a library.

11/12/2008

check that out

look at that http://www.lesinrocks.com/inrocks-tv/inrocks-tv-clip/clip...

listen (and watch-it was recorded in a radio studio) to a full live set here http://www.lesinrocks.com/inrocks-tv/inrocks-tv-clip/clip...

and if you like it, or are still sceptical but think you might like it

Birdy Nam Nam dj set (different than the live show but still good as you get to hear all their influences)

last gigs

Messiah J and The Experts: good set although it was better last night, i really like their lyrics and they are really nice lads.

http://www.myspace.com/messiahjandtheexpert

The Kanyu Tree: they are ok, make me think of the gorgeous colours, but they are missing something.

http://www.myspace.com/thekanyutree

All Star Charge: brilliant band, really impressed. have a listen.

http://www.myspace.com/allstarcharge

Deshonos: a copy of oasis. so obvious it's laughable. no personnality or charisma whatsoever.

http://www.myspace.com/deshonos

40g flour

1 white onion, diced 1cm

1 leek, diced 1cm

5 potatoes, peeled and diced 1cm

1 pint milk

½ pint whipping cream

½ pint of white wine
