it does look good

Feels so impersonal though... and the song is shit.

oh yeah i don't care about the songs!
but in fairness, i don't know any band who play in stadiums in front of 80 000 persons that can preserve a sense of intimacy and particularity...
that's what happen with notoriety and demand,
the more demand there is, the more impersonal your shows will get.
but shit, U2 shows look good, their designer is amazing (as is Ollie, Muse lighting designer)

I know that you can't be intimate in a stadium, but there's something about the fact that here, the show is almost more about the lights and the stage than the music.

I guess for me there's too much light and stage design... When Led Zep played in stadiums they didn't have as much, and the shows were amazing anyway. Because ultimately you go to see a band for the songs...

What a funny thing to say to a lighting tech ;)

yes it is hard work to try to convince a lighting tech that the lighting design is too much! (it can never be too much for us!)
but i do understand your point of view. and i will always remember meeting a 70-years old english lighting designer who saw the Beatles years ago with just one light bulb above their heads and told me they were fantastic
