"Last week one of the lads' apartment was broken into and all our band money which we have saved and saved for ages was taken. This money was to be used to pay off our recording, duplication and PR costs and now we have absolutely nothing. Frowny-emoticon!

We are having a fundraiser on July 1st in Whelans and we have a few friends playing with us on the night to help us get bodies into the venue to help re-coup the cash that was lost as we truly have no money after the break in and are fantastically in debt."

visiting

my mum is arriving today and staying for a week!

i'm cooking an olive and sausage cake before she gets here

 

15 cl de lait / 15cl of milk
15 cl d'huile d'olive / 15cl of olive oil
4 oeufs / 4 eggs
100 g de gruyère râpé / 100g grated cheese
250 g de farine / 250g flour
1 paquet de levure / baking powder
1 cuillère à café de moutarde / mustard
200 g de jambon en dés/ ou poulet/ ou saucisse / 200gr of ham/ or chicken/ or sausage
200 g d'olives vertes / 200gr of green olives




Dans un saladier, travaillez le lait, l'huile et les oeufs cassés un par un.

mix milk, olive oil, eggs.

Ajoutez la farine, le gruyère râpé, la farine, la levure, la moutarde et terminez par le jambon (en dés) et les olives coupées en 2.

add flour, grated cheese, baking powder, mustard, and finally the pieces of ham or chicken or sausage and cut olives.

Faites cuire dans un moule à cake beurré et fariné pendant 45 mn, à 190°C (thermostat 6/7).

cook in the oven for 45mn at 190°C (6-7)

less work, more time

more time to experiment cooking

 

this afternoon my plan is to make a flambeed banana thanks to some ouzo (greek anise liquor) and sugar

with on top of it fresh raspberries and blueberries

and on top of it all some whipped fresh cream mixed with vanilla ice cream

 

cet apres-midi je vais tente une banane flambee avec de l'ouzo (pastis grec) et du sucre

avec des framboises et mures fraiches

avec par dessus le tout de la creme fraiche fouette melange a de la glace a la vanille

riz au lait

rice pudding:

boil 150gr of rice in water for 3mn, drain

put your rice in 500ml of milk with vanilla, a small amount cinnamon and lemon, and 50gr of sugar

on the hob, really slowly so the milk doesn't boil, for about 30-40mn, it is done when the milk is almost totally absorbed by the rice.

put in small bowls and in the fridge for the night.

eat for breakfast, lunch, tea, dinner...

 

 

riz au lait:

faire bouillir 150gr de riz dans de l'eau pour 3mn, egoutter

mettre le riz dans 500ml de lait avec de la vanille, un peu de canelle et citron, et 50gr de sucre

faire chauffer tout doucement le lait pour qu'il ne bout pas, pendant 30-40mn, c'est pret quand le lait a presque ete absorbe par le riz.

mettre dans des ramequins et au frigo pour la nuit.

a manger au petit dejeuner, dejeuner, gouter, diner...

worries

work is becoming more and more quiet

july seems to be dead, so dead in the venue...

i've started looking for a part time job just in case it stays quiet.

i'm kinda worried. hopefully it will be better for gigs after the summer. but even then the venue is supposed to close at the end of december.

and then?

i don't know what's going to happen. i don't really want to move and go to the UK but i might have to, there are jobs in the UK. it will be a pain to move all my stuff and furniture though...

ha if only i didn't have that loan, i could have saved a little bit of money... now i'm just scared i might lose my job like everyone else and won't have any money for the loan, the rent, the food...

 

stupid crisis.
