did you feel that?
the sun is actually warming us up now... yes if you're under the sun, you can feel the heat... spring is there my friends, now we need to have the sun for a full day without a freezing cold wind and we'll be leaving our coat and scarf in our wardrobe...
and then afterwards, maybe we'll have a summer, finally...

oh by the way :-)
my "former" flatmate/ psycho sister/ p'tite poule is back in Ireland on Sunday!
yeah she left the Caribbean and the crappy American company that was employing her and decided to come back to Ireland.
so good luck to her!
(oh and our plan is to move this summer, big house, seaside and bbq all the time, anyone wants to join us? we need a third person so the rent will be very very cheap... even if you're only 15mn away from the city centre by bus, and 40mn walking... a there's the train as well... 5mn? :-)

ok not the picnic
dont want to pay that much... im going to try working there instead...
but i have another idea, 5 or 6 days in france, a visit to paris, and a 3 days festival, 85 euros, big names (see the line up), sun probably, and flight for cheap at the moment... and a week end without festivals in Ireland...
oh yeah Les Eurockeennes de Belfort
http://www.eurockeennes.fr/fr/programme-2008/
Les vieilles charrues (a festival in Brittany) are the same week end than Oxegen so no
same for Benicassim in Spain (and it's really expensive!!! i understand now why there's no spanish people going to the festival and it's only English or Irish!)
i don't know any other idea? in spain? or in france? i want a festival with big names, a bit of sun, and cheap (less than 100 euros for three days)
i'm willing to go anywhere in Europe, i told you, i just need sun... so no for Germany, but yes for france, spain, greece, italy, portugal etc... (oh yeah i didnt' check portugal...)

on a diet?
for those on a diet, stop starving yourself and try to follow this instead...
i'm thin but i eat all the time (when i mean all the time, here is my regular day: two croissant for breakfast, then a chocolate bar around 10, then pack of crisps around 11, then lunch -sandwich or light meal-, then chocolate bar around 2, then a fruit around 3, then chocolate bar around 4 or 5, then dinner kinda early -just a main meal, no dessert or starter-, then dessert later around 10 or 11...)
anyway apparently i am thin because i have a high metabolism... so i just checked on internet how you can increase your metabolism and here you go (in bold are the things i do)
- Get active - it's a sure-fire way to increase the amount of muscle you have, which in turn will speed up your metabolism. Do a mixture of aerobic and resistance training for best results. And don't forget to be more active in your daily life too.
- Eat little and often - there's evidence that eating small, regular meals throughout the day, rather than one or two large meals, may help to keep your metabolism ticking over. Surprisingly, around 10 percent of the calories we use each day go on digesting and absorbing food - so the more times you eat, the greater this effect is likely to be.
- Eat plenty of protein-rich foods - research shows that around 25 percent of calories in a protein-rich meal may be burnt off. But make sure you choose low-fat protein foods such as lean meat, skinless chicken and low-fat dairy products.
- Spice up meals - it's not an old wives tale after all! Spices like chilli are thought to raise metabolism by up to 50 percent for up to three hours after eating, due to increasing your heart rate. But before putting the local Indian takeaway on speed dial, work out which curries have the lowest calorie and fat content.
- Swap you daily cuppa for green tea - there's evidence that it contains antioxidants that speed up metabolism. (well i drink tea instead of coffee)
- Try a CLA supplement - more extensive studies need to be carried out before any definite conclusions can be drawn, but research has shown that conjugated linoleic acid (CLA) might increase muscle and therefore boost metabolism.
- Chill out - research shows that being very cold can increase metabolism by up to 20 percent. (well i live in ireland so that's easy...)
- Have a sauna - being very hot is also thought to boost metabolism by about 20 percent (but check you don't have any underlying medical problems that mean you shouldn't go in saunas or steam rooms).
so the main thing is eat often and little and put spices in your food, and be active! walk a lot instead of taking the transports or park your car far away in a cheap car park and then walk. or if you like sports, run or go to the gym (i hate sports so i can't help you there)
so try it and let me know after 3 or 4 months if you see a difference!

i can be like him!
i cooked a really nice lunch on friday...
in a dish, olive oil, tomatoes chopped in quarter, in the oven for 10mn
now you've got the sauce thank to the tomato juice and olive oil so your meat won't be dry
add mushrooms, pre-cooked carrots (boil them before, it takes ages in the oven otherwise), chopped onions, a bit of butter all over it
cooked for 10mn
add a whole chicken, with olive oil and thyme directly on the meat, cooked for 20mn
turn the chicken, cook for 20mn again
and turn the chicken a last time and wait for the skin to be slightly brown
and then enjoy, with white wine
:-)

Jamie Oliver is delicious
i mean what he's cooking is delicious
in a big dish: butter+olive oil+rosemary
then onions chopped in half
then potatoes chopped in quarter
half of a bottle of vinegar on the whole thing
and in the oven for about 30mn
eat that with pork preferably
onions, garlic, olive oil in the dish
rosemary, salt, pepper, fennel and a bit of olive oil directly on the meat
in the oven for about an hour
for the sauce, use the garlic and onions of the pork dish, add 2 glass of white wine, mix and crush the garlic and onions...
yummy!
