landscapes of sahara
i found out tonight that the desert is like the sea. controlled by the elements of nature. the wind drawing lines on its surface. the wind bringing the sand in a place and changing the landscape like a tide will. an immense space where you can be completely isolated, surrounded by nature and isolation.
The Embassy of France in association with the Alliance Française presents Samuel Chantoiseau’s first exhibition in Dublin.
Samuel Chantoiseau is a French photographer now established in Cork since 2006.
He has practiced photography for fifteen years. His work focuses on reportage in black and white. He has regularly visited Sahara and has stayed there for a few months at a time. While in Sahara Samuel experienced profound moments of closeness with the Touaregs. Samuel has captured these images while travelling these magnificent desert lands where Touaregs live and move in the depths of this mysterious environment.
