Dublin Fringe Festival

in volunteering for this year's Dublin Fringe Festival. For those of you have
been involved with the Fringe before you'll know how great it is to be part of
Dublin's most exciting festival. This is a really great opportunity for you guys
to get experience in the theatre, dance, art and music business, a great feature
on your C.V. and if that's not enough its also a lot of fun!"

Beau programme que le disque pour enfants conçu par Belle & Sebastian, et dont les revenus enrichiront une œuvre caritative.

Franz Ferdinand (avec le morceau Jackie Jackson), Four Tet (Go Go Ninja Dinosaur), les Kooks (The King & I), The Flaming Lips (The Big Ol' Bug Is the New Baby Now) ou Belle & Sebastian (The Monkeys are Breaking out of the Zoo) seront de la boum. L’album paraîtra en octobre. (27 juil. 2006)

what's next?

ok donc des news de moi pour changer de news sur la musique ou les fetes...

je quitte mon boulot au centre d'appels le 25 aout, j'aurais quand meme tenu 13 mois la-bas!!!

belle experience, enfin surtout au niveau humain, parce que niveau boulot, ce n'est pas tres tres interessant d'apprendre a reparer des photocopieurs et imprimantes!

 

je serais en france du 4 au 15 septembre en vacances...

 

et le 18 septembre, direction les etudes, et oui, mais des etudes interessantes:

ingenieur son live, au Sound Training Centre a Dublin.

un an de formation: cours + pratique

et a la fin, un metier passionant, ce que j'ai toujours voulu faire sans jamais oser le faire en France, travailler dans le monde de la musique.

 

et je vous vois venir, priere de ne pas me demander des places de concert et autres pass backstage etc... ;-)

 

 

et j'espere vraiment que ca va marcher car j'ai pris un pret de 15 000 euros pour survivre pendant une annee...

 

 

 

ok so news concerning my personal life to change from the news on music or parties...

i'm quitting my job in the call centre on the 25th of august, i was in this company for 13 months!!!

great experience, well for the friendly staff, not for the job itself, it is not really interesting to learn how to fix copiers and printers!

 

i will be in france on holidays from the 4th to the 15th of september...

 

and on the 18th of september, i'm going back to college, yes to college but to do something interesting:

study live sound engineering, at the Sound Training Centre in Dublin.

one year of both courses and practice

and at the end, a fascinating job, all i always to do and never dare to when i was in france, work in the music industry.

 

and the answer to the question: "can you give me a ticket for this gig? can i have a backstage pass etc...?" is no... ;-)

 

and i really hope it is gonna work as i've taken a loan of 15 000 euros to survive during this year...

near Merrion Square, a bit posh, nice decor, great terrace to smoke, music: rock from the 80ies first, then r n'b hits from the 80ies and now at the end of the night, several floors and dancefloors

Pets Sounds Stage en premier, bon petit groupe de rock

13:25 - V Formation:

nouveau groupe, assez etonnee par leur performance

new band, quite surprised by their show

 

14:00 - The Spinto Band:

super groupe, a la hauteur des critiques,ils sautent partout sur scene, style particulier de jouer de la guitare

great band like critics said, they kept jumping on the stage, special way of playing guitar

 

14:25 - Republic Of Loose:

comme un melange de rock et r n'b, beaucoup de monde dans le public, tout le monde connaissait les paroles, un bon groupe irlandais

like a mix of rock and r n'b, a lot of persons in the audience, everybody knew the lyrics, a good irish band

 

16:20 - Regina Spektor:

je l'adore, style tres original, meme humour que Benabar

I like her a lot, very original style, same humour than Benabar (french singer)

 

17:30 - Bic Runga:

du talent mais ennuyeux

talented but boring

 

17:50 - Hard-fi:

je ne peux pas voir le chanteur qui fait semblant de se rebeller contre la societe, et en plus il chante faux

I can't stand the singer who only pretends to rebel against society, and moreover he doesn't sing well at all

 

19:05 - Arctic Monkeys:

bon groupe, bonnes paroles, bonnes melodies, le groupe anglais du moment (dommage que le son ait ete horrible a ce moment-la)

good band, good lyrics, good melodies, the British band of the moment (too bad the sound was crappy at that moment)

 

20:30 - The Strokes:

comme je l'ai dit dans une note precedente, le meilleur groupe du festival pour moi

as I said in a previous post, the best band of the festival according to me

 

22:10 - The Who:

vieux hits, show sensationnel, son parfait, l'hymne du festival:

old hits, sensational show, perfect sound, the anthem of the festival:

bonne energie sur scene, le batteur est super bon

15h de l'apres-midi+moins d'une heure pour jouer+fatigue+barriere de la langue= mauvais show

3pm+less than an hour to play+tired+language barrier= bad show

 

16:10 - Bell X1:

groupe irlandais, de bons tubes mais parfois ennuyeux

irish band, some good hits but sometimes boring

 

17:30 - Placebo:

Brian Molko de mauvaise humeur, 2 ou 3 merci, rien d'autre, heureusement bonne musique

Brian Molko in a bad mood, 2 or 3 thank you, nothing more, fortunately good music

19:00 - Kaiser Chiefs:

energie sur scene, hits et 5 nouveaux morceaux, un public en folie

energy on stage, hits and 5 new tunes, a completely crazy audience

changement depuis la premiere tournee, plus professionnel et plus a l'aise sur scene

change since their very first tour, more professional and comfortable on stage
