Spanish time in Ireland!

concert d'hier, a Dun Laoghaire, festival des cutures du monde... OJOS DE BRUJO!

j'etais tres excitee de les voir, un groupe barcelonais en Irlande, un super moment pour moi et pour des centaines d'autres personnes presentes dans le public...en majorite des espagnols.

super concert, une energie, un son, des influences diverses (flamenco, rumba, hip hop), et du bonheur pendant presque deux heures. un danseur de flamenco pendant quelques chansons...(canon!) et un chanteuse magnifique, qui sait faire du rap et du flamenco a la perfection, un parfait melange des genres.

fin de soiree sur une jetee, puis dans un hotel a Dun Laoghaire, puis au Mezz a Dublin, puis au Turk's Head a Dublin et enfin un petit verre chez moi devant la tele francaise...

longue journee de bonheur hier!

 

yesterday gig, in Dun Laoghaire, world culture festival... OJOS DE BRUJO!

i was very excited to see them, a band from Barcelona in Ireland, a great time for me and for hundreds of persons here in the audience... Spanish in majority.

great concert, energy, sound, diverse influences (flamenco, rumba, hip hop), and happiness for almost two hours. a dancer of flamenco for a few songs... (so handsome!) and a wonderful singer, who knows perfectly how to rap and sing flamenco, a perfect mix of music genres.

end of the night on a pier, then in a hotel in Dun Laoghaire, then in the Mezz in Dublin, then in the Turk's Head in Dublin and finally a small drink at my place in front of French TV...

long day of happiness yesterday!

 

concierto ayer, en Dun Laoghaire, festival de las culturas del mundo... OJOS DE BRUJO!

estaba muy excitada de verlos, un grupo de Barcelona en Irlanda, un momento super para mi y para los centenares de persones presentes en el publico... espanoles en mayoridad.

super concierto, energia, sonido, influencias varias (flamenco, rumba, hip hop) y felicidad durante casi dos horas. un bailador de flamenco durante algunas canciones... (muy guapo!) y una cantadora maravillosa, que sabe perfectamente hacer rap y flamenco, una perfecta mezcla de estilos.

fin de noche en un embarcadero, despues en un hotel en Dun Laoghaire, despues en el Mezz en Dublin, despues en el Turk's Head en Dublin y finalmente una copa en mi casa en frente de la television francesa...

un largo dia de felicidad!

-jeudi, une soiree chez un collegue: 30 personnes, alcool et autre substance, connaissance d'autres collegues francais et italiens.

-vendredi, une soiree chez moi: 10 personnes, francais, italiens, espagnols, alcool, nourriture, fin de soiree au Turk's Head.

 

-thursday night, a party at a colleague's: 30 persons, alcohol and other stuff, acquaintance of other french and italian colleagues.

-friday night, a party at my place: 10 persons, french, italian, spanish, alcohol, food, end of the night in the Turk's Head.

 

-jueves, noche en la casa de un colego: 30 personas, bebidas y otras cosas, encuentra de colegos franceses y italianos.

-viernes, noche en mi casa: 10 personas, franceses, italianos, espanoles, bebidas, comida, fin de la noche en el Turk's Head.

 

Week-end a Cork

Arrivee Samedi, visite centre ville et quartier de Shandon, verre au Thirsty Scholar, dinner au Gingerbread House, sortie au Fransiscan Well, fin de soiree dans une soiree a Carrigaline dans un champ... !
Dimanche : apres-midi a la plage a Lispatrick, ballade dans Kinsale, barbecue chez Xavier et verre au Brog.
Lundi : visite de la fac et retour sur Dublin.

Bon petit week-end avec le plaisir de retrouver mes endroits preferes !

Arrival on Saturday, visit of the city center and of Shandon neighbourhood, drink at the Thirsty Scholar, diner in the Gingerbread House, drink at the Franciscan Well, end of the night at a party in Carrigaline in a field...!

Sunday: afternoon on the beach in Lispatrick, walk in Kinsale, bbq at Xavier’s and drink in the Brog.

Monday: visit of the university and come back to Dublin.

Good week-end with the pleasure to find again my favourite places!

 

Llegada el sabado, visita del centro y del barrio de Shandon, copa en el Thirsty Scholar, cena en el Gingerbread House, copa en el Franciscan Well, fin de la noche en una fiesta en Carrigaline en un campo...!
Domingo : tarde en la playa en Lispatrick, paseo por Kinsale, barbacoa en la casa de Xavier, y copa en el Brog.
Lunes : visita de la universidad y regreso en Dublin.
Bueno fin de semana con el placer de encontrar de nuevo mis sitios preferidos !

Concert anti-guerre

Concert anti-guerre vendredi soir au Whelans. (les troupes americaines se ravitaillent a l’aeroport de Shannon en Irlande avant d’aller en Irak...)
-Tagh Cooke : chanteur guitariste, bien sympa a ecouter, bon style.
-The Chapters : pop rock a l’anglaise, son original quand meme avec un violoncelle, bons musiciens mais l’harmonie et le son restent a travailler.
-The Rags : prestation aussi bien que la derniere fois, le chanteur a fait un bon petit show a la photographe qui n’a pas arrete de les prendre en photos pendant tout le concert! Par contre le son etait pourri... beaucoup trop fort, ca saturait un peu trop !

 

Anti-war gig friday night at the Whelans. (American troops refuel at Shannon airport in Ireland before going to Irak...)

-Tagh Cooke: singer and guitarist, nice to listen to, good style.

-The Chapters: English pop rock like, original sound with a cello, good musicians but they still have to work on the harmony and the sound.

-The Rags: performance as good as the last time, the singer made a good little show to the photograph who kept taking them in pictures during the whole concert! However the sound was crap... too much loud, it was really too much saturated!

 

Concierto contra la guerra en el Whelans. (las tropas americanas toman gasolina en el aeropuerto de Shannon en Irlanda antes de ir a Irak...)
-Tagh Cooke : cantador y guitarista, bien para escuchar, buen estilo.
-The Chapters : como pop rock inglesa, sonido original con un violoncelo, buenos musicos pero tienen que trabajar mas la harmonia y el sonido.
-The Rags : buen concierto como la ultima vez, el cantador hizo un buen show delante de la fotografa que no dejo tomarlos en foto durante todo el concierto ! si embargo el sonido era una catastrofe... demasiado fuerte, estaba demasiado saturado !

Week-end a Cork

J’ai trois jours de vacances (ils nous ont donne notre Lundi 15 aout!) donc petit week-end a Cork avec quelques collegues
Au programme :
Hotel particulier chez Xavier (erasmus francais l’an dernier)
Aller voir Richard (ami irlandais de Cork) faire du surf
Et quelques pintes au Brog bien sur...

 

I have three days off (they gave us our Monday !) so small week-end to Cork with some colleagues

Programme:

Hotel at Xavier’s (French erasmus student last year)

Going to see Richard (Irish friend of mine living in Cork) surfing

And some pints in the Brog for sure...

 

Tengo tres dias de vacaciones (nos dan nuestro Lunes !) pues pequeno fin de semana en Cork con colegos
